A Case of Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome and Myoglobinuria Associated with Chronic Alcohol Drinking



Abstract
The hemolytic uremic symdrome(HUS) is a clinico-pathologic syndrome in which thrombocytopenia and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia occur together with acute renal failure and a characteristic renal vascular pathology. Although HUS occurs
considered to
involve the kidney ahnost exclusively, involvement other organs has been incresingly recognized and it may involve the cardiovascular, CNS, gastrointestinal, skin and rarely muscular system.
We report a case of HUS and myoglobinuria in a heavily drinking woman with review of literature.
